SPATA

SPATA is the trade association for the swimming pool industry in the UK. Its 250 or so members comprise pool builders, retailers, designers, service engineers and trade suppliers in the UK and overseas. It covers both domestic and commercial installations.

SPATA pool installer members are fully vetted before being admitted to membership, with checks on their financial record, their experience in the trade and inspections of their work. They are required to comply fully with SPATA construction standards and code of ethics, and their work is also subject to periodic re-inspections after joining.

BISHTA

The trade organisation established to educate and so to help protect the public from the potential hazards which may arise from improperly maintained spas and hot tubs. All companies within BISHTA sign to accept the BISHTA standards and their codes of practice and agree to strive to promote best practice in the fields of product claims, trading practices and clear and accurate information to customers. They also have to prove that their staff are trained and aware of Spa water chemistry and hygiene.
